The two best words when put together in all of sports: Game Seven.
While it’s upsetting that the NHL season will end tonight, watching players’ dreams come true is exciting. Will the Florida Panthers win their first Stanley Cup in franchise history? Or will the Edmonton Oilers break Canada’s 31-year Stanley Cup drought?
Today’s expected goaltender matchup for our highlighted game:
The Edmonton Oilers’ Stuart Skinner (14-8 record, 2.47 GAA, .901 S%) vs. The Florida Panthers’ Sergei Bobrovsky (15-8 record, 2.38 GAA, .903 S%).

Edmonton Oilers / Florida Panthers Under 5.5 (-150)

A $15.00 bet would return $25.00.
It’s Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals. There is no tomorrow to play for. Players will put defence first by throwing their bodies in front of every shot to avoid the other team scoring.
Since 1950, there have been 14 Stanley Cup Final Game 7s. In all 14 instances, the game total has gone under 5.5. There have been three Game 7s in this postseason, and, you guessed it, all three games went under this total.

Vladimir Tarasenko Over 1.5 Shots on Goal (-150)

A $15.00 bet would return $25.00.
Vladimir Tarasenko has cleared in nine of his last 10 games, averaging 2.9 shots on 4.4 shot attempts. At home in this postseason, he’s cleared in six straight and nine of their 12 games, averaging 2.1 shots on 3.4 attempts.
In this Stanley Cup finals, the Russian Sniper has cleared in five of six games this series and 10 of his last 14 against the Oilers, averaging 2.9 shots on 5.1 shot attempts.
With Taranseko averaging 4.4 shot attempts per game, let’s round that down to four. When Tarasenko sees 4+ shot attempts this season, he’s cleared this line in 82% of all games, averaging 2.8 shots per game.

Connor McDavid Goal (+115)

A $10 bet would return $21.50.
Taking the under with a goal scorer seems like trying to thread a needle, but it’s the last game of the season; I’m taking some risks! McDavid has eight goals in 24 games this postseason, but three of them in his last three games. He’s scored four goals in his previous four elimination games.
McDavid is showing he’s the best player in the world by singlehandedly putting the Edmonton Oilers team on his back to force a Game 7. Superstars always seem to find their way to get their hands on the cup, and McDavid has his chance to write his history tonight.

Leon Draisaitl had two shots in the first period and got his third early in the second to cash our bet. The Florida Panthers’ monumental collapse continues as they get blown out 5-1.
