Well, the Florida Panthers and Dallas Stars did their job last night to punch their ticket to the respective Conference finals. Can Vancouver punch its ticket to the final four tonight?
Today’s confirmed goaltender matchup for our highlighted game:
The Vancouver Canucks’ Arturs Silovs (5-3 record, 2.62 GAA, .907 S%) vs. The Edmonton Oilers’ Stuart Skinner (5-3 record, 3.23 GAA, .877 S%).

Vancouver Canucks moneyline (+165)

A $10.00 bet would return $26.50.
From my question in the ‘Getting Started’ section, I think they do.
I always said whoever won Game 5 was going to win the series. As much as Game 7s are fun, the body language of some of the Oilers’ top forwards shows that they’re just so defeated. Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Zach Hyman, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Evander Kane, Evan Bouchard, and Mattias Ekholm have all not skated since Game 5. They’re clearly dealing with some bats and bruises and aren’t 100% healthy.
In a shocking move, the Oilers are turning to Stuart Skinner tonight. This move makes no sense in my eyes; Calvin Pickard played great in Game 5 despite a losing effort. But he’s the only reason the game wasn’t a 5-2 loss instead of a 3-2 loss. Skinner really struggled throughout the first three games of this series, allowing 12 goals while having a .789 save percentage.
Maybe the rest was enough for him to return to regular-season form, but either way, it’s a headscratcher to me.

Connor McDavid over 3.5 shots on goal (-105)

A $10.00 bet would return $19.52
Connor McDavid was completely shut down last game, and while I still do think he’s banged up and the Canucks win, there’s no way he doesn’t go down without a fight. Since being held without a shot on goal in Game 1, he’s covered this line in three of four of the remaining games, averaging 3.8 shots on 7.0 shot attempts.
Like many other Edmontonians, McDavid is a homebody – cause what else is there to do out there other than watch hockey, right Nikita Zadorov? He’s cleared in 57% of his home games this season, averaging 4.1 shots on 6.2 shot attempts. This is a large discrepancy in comparison to his road splits, as he’s cleared at only 20% on the road this season.

Last Game Recap

Dallas Stars Moneyline – WON – (+$10.00)
Jake Oettinger Over 26.5 Saves – WON – (+$8.00)
The Dallas Stars came through, punching their ticket to the Western Conference final as they won in dramatic fashion off the stick of Matt Duchene. Thankfully, the game went to double overtime as it took Jake Oettinger until then to cash his saves line.
All-Time Record: 102-95-1 (+$21.26)
