To the chagrin of Flames Nation bettors, the Edmonton Oilers advance and move on to play Chris Tanev and the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference final. I wonder who you’re cheering for?
Today’s confirmed goaltender matchup for our highlighted game:
The Edmonton Oilers’ Stuart Skinner (7-3 record, 2.87 GAA, .881 S%) vs. The Dallas Stars’ Jake Oettinger (8-5 record, 2.09 GAA, .918 S%).

Edmonton Oilers / Dallas Stars over 5.5 goals (-150)

A $15.00 bet would return $25.00.
The Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars went over this total in two of three matchups this season and six of their last eight head-to-head matchups. The Oilers went over this total in four of five games in their Los Angeles series and four of seven games in their Vancouver series – all three misses were one goal shy. The Stars went over in just two of seven games against Vegas but in four of six games against Colorado.
Skinner showed some struggle in the Oilers series against the Canucks. So much so that he got benched for Calvin Pickard after allowing 12 goals and having a collective .789 save percentage in the first three games. However, he stepped up when the team needed him most, winning games six and seven. But I’m still not totally convinced he’s got his mojo back. He looked shaky and allowed some bad rebounds, indicating that the goalie isn’t in his rhythm.
On the other hand, Jake Oettinger has been much more reliable with his numbers. However, the location for Oettinger really dictates how he plays this playoffs. He’s allowed 21 goals in the Stars’ seven home games while just allowing eight in six road games. I think the Oilers can get a couple past him while still having their legs under them, playing just three days ago.

Evan Bouchard over 2.5 shots on goal (-150)

A $15.00 bet would return $25.00.
Bouchard has covered his shots on goal line in five of seven games against Vancouver, averaging 3.4 shots on 8.7 shot attempts. Bouchard has been road splits than home splits, as he’s registered three or more shots in 54% of all his road games this season, averaging 2.9 shots on 6.0 shot attempts.
Against the Stars this season, Bouchard has covered this line in all three games. In fact, he has four or more shots in all three games, averaging 4.7 shots on 9.7 shot attempts. The Dallas Stars are allowing 9.5 shots to defencemen so far this playoffs, which is good for the second highest among all teams that qualified for the postseason.

Last Game Recap

Vincent Trocheck Over 2.5 Shots on Goal – WON – (+$9.09)
New York Rangers Moneyline – LOSS – (-$10.00)
With a few of his saves in the first period, it was pretty clear that nothing was getting past Sergei Bobrovsky. His play resulted in the Rangers getting shut down, but Trocheck still came through and got his three shots on goal.
All-Time Record: 105-99-1 (+$10.94)
