The Calgary Flames are back in action tonight in their first game without fan favourite Elias Lindholm. Unfortunately for Flames fans, they face off against one of the teams tied for the league lead in points, the Boston Bruins.
It will be interesting to see how this Flames team gels without their long-time number-one centre. Historically, even with Lindholm, the Flames have lost three straight to the Bruins.
Tonight’s confirmed goalie matchup: Jacob Markstrom (14-13-2) vs. Jeremy Swayman (16-3-7)

Calgary Flames & Boston Bruins first period under 1.5 goals (-105)

Your $7.50 bet would return $14.64.
Betting the under is usually not the most fun bet, but after what the hockey world saw yesterday, there may be an edge here.
Strictly playing into the narrative that after a lengthy break, teams will start out sluggish. Most players like to go on vacation to recharge their batteries and let loose. It may take a period or two for players to get their legs underneath them again and back into the flow of the game.
Before the break, the Flames went under in the first period in three of their last four games, while the Bruins went under this first period total in two of their last four games.

Jacob Markstrom over 26.5 saves (-125)

Your $10 bet would return $18.00.
This line is criminally low for Jacob Markstrom tonight.
Markstrom has covered this saves line in nine of his last ten games, averaging 29.9 saves per game. Against the Bruins, he has cleared this line in two of his previous three starts, averaging 31.7 saves per game. On home ice this season, Boston averages 31.5 shots for per game.

Andrei Kuzmenko over 1.5 shots on goal (-163)

Your $12.50 bet would return $20.19.
Andrei Kuzmenko is making his Flames debut tonight. The former Canuck struggled this season in Vancouver, but nothing shakes off the rust of a poor season more than a change of scenery.
The shooting production has slowed for Kuzmenko over his last eight games, covering this line in only four games, averaging 1.4 shots on 3.8 shot attempts per game. A potential reason for this could be because his ice time over the last 10 games has significantly decreased from his average on the season. Kuzmenko averages 14.4 minutes of time on ice (TOI) on the season but only 12.8 TOI over his last 10 games.
According to lines in Flames practice, Kuzmenko will take Lindholm’s spot on the top line with Jonathan Huberdeau and Yegor Sharangovich. Indicating that this Flames coaching staff is willing to give Kuzmenko a shot to show his offensive ability with more ice time. The Bruins are allowing 31.5 shots per game. In Kuzmenko’s only game against the Bruins, he registered two shots on goal on four shot attempts.
