The playoffs have arrived! And while there are no Calgary Flames games to bet on, there is still money to be made. That all starts this afternoon!
Today’s expected goaltender match-up for our highlighted game:
The New York Islanders’ Semyon Varlamov (14-8-4) vs. The Carolina Hurricanes’ Frederik Andersen (13-2).

Carolina Hurricanes moneyline & Sebastian Aho point (+100)

A $10.00 bet would return $17.27.
The Carolina Hurricanes have been on a roll coming into this year’s playoffs. Outside of their most recent game against the Columbus Blue Jackets (where they sat most of their stars), they had won seven of their previous eight games. New additions Jake Guentzel and Evgeny Kuznetsov have gelled perfectly with this Rod Brind’Amour-led Hurricanes squad.
The Hurricanes and Islanders split the season series with two games apiece; however, Carolina outscored New York 16-14. These teams have met in the playoffs twice since 2019, with Carolina completely dominating, winning both series 4-0 and 4-2.
Sebastian Aho has 10 points in seven of his last 10 games. He also loves playing the Islanders, having points in seven straight games. In last year’s first-round match-up, Aho finished with seven points in six games.

Semyon Varlamov over 29.5 saves (-143)

A $10.00 bet would return $17.00.
Semyon Varlamov has cleared this line in four of his last six starts, averaging 29.2 saves per game – these averages may be skewed as in his previous two starts, the Islanders allowed 14 and 24 shots against.
In his only start against the Hurricanes this season, Varlamov had 39 saves on 43 shots. Carolina averages the fourth most shots on goal over their last 10 games before the playoffs, averaging 35.3 per game.
