There are four games on tonight’s slate, with four of the top five teams, according to league standings, facing off against each other. The second-place New York Rangers take on the fourth-place Vancouver Canucks, and the third-place Boston Bruins face-off against the fifth-place Colorado Avalanche.
The other two games on the docket are two divisional match-ups, with a battle of Pennsylvania with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers. The eighth-place Dallas Stars take on the banged-up Minnesota Wild.

Colorado Avalanche moneyline (-130)

Your $10 bet would return $17.69.
A goalie battle tonight in Colorado. Jeremy Swayman and his 11-3-4 record goes up against Alexander Georgiev’s 21-9-2 record.
Colorado is a much different team, depending on the location. At home this season, Colorado is 16-5. On the road, they are 9-7-3. Boston has a very similar record no matter the location but has two more losses on the road than at home.
Coming into tonight’s game, Colorado is 7-2-1, with Boston a bit behind with a 5-3-2 record over their last 10 games. The Bruins have won three straight head-to-head match-ups against the Avalanche; expect the Nathan MacKinnon-led club to seek revenge tonight.

Valeri Nichuskin over 3.5 shots on goal (+125)

Your $10 bet would return $22.50.
The impressive play of Jonathan Drouin on the top line has allowed Valeri Nichuskin to drive the offence on the second line. The Russian forward has cleared this line in four straight games, averaging 4.8 shots on 7.3 attempts per game.
In his most recent outing against the Bruins at home, Nichuskin had five shots on goal. Boston has allowed 7.6 shots on goal to the left wing over their last twenty days, ranking as the second highest in the NHL.

Marco Rossi point (+105)

Your $10 bet would return $20.50
The Wild have been riddled with injuries recently, which has seen Marco Rossi get extra ice time over his last five games, averaging 2:12 more time on ice than his season average.
With Mats Zuccarello returning against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Rossi got promoted to the top line between Matthew Boldy and Zuccarello. In that game, the former first-round pick scored in 22:37 minutes of ice time.
The Austrian forward has points in five of his last nine home games, totalling eight points. In an earlier meeting against the Dallas Stars this season, Rossi registered an assist in only 14:33 time on ice.
Matt Murray, the Stars third-string goalie, is making his first start of the season. In three games last season, the Dallas netminder finished with a 1-2 record, a 3.39 goals against average and a .844 save percentage.

Last Game Recap

Calgary Flames -1.5 – LOSS – (-$10)
Jonathan Huberdeau Point – WON – (+$8.50)
Although it was difficult scheduling for the Flames, playing their third game in four days, it was still disappointing to see Calgary not be able to take advantage of their hurting opponent.
All-Time Record: 5-6 (-$18.5)
