It’s a small Wednesday night slate with no Calgary Flames hockey. Flames Nation bettors will have to target two Western Conference competitors to make a couple of bucks tonight.
Tonight’s expected goaltender match-ups for our highlighted games:
The Detroit Red Wings’ Alex Lyon (18-10-2) vs. The Colorado Avalanche’s Alexandar Georgiev (31-15-3).
The Ottawa Senators’ Anton Forsberg (11-10) vs. The Anaheim Ducks’ Lukas Dostal (9-16-1).
Cale Makar over 2.5 shots on goal (-143)
Cale Makar has cleared in five of his last eight games, averaging 3.3 shots on 7.1 shot attempts. The Avalanche defenceman shoots better at home this season, covering at a 68% clip, averaging 3.3 shots on 7.4 shot attempts.
Against the Red Wings, Makar has cleared in four of his last five games, averaging 3.4 shots on 7.4 shot attempts. Detroit is allowing the fifth most shots to defencemen over their previous 10 games, averaging 9.5 shots per game to the position.
Lukas Dostal over 30.5 saves (-118)

To say the Anaheim Ducks are playing short-handed tonight would be an understatement. Whether it’s trade or injury, this Ducks roster will look weaker than usual.
Lukas Dostal is just one game removed from his 52-save win against the New Jersey Devils last Friday night. He has only covered this line in one of his previous three games, averaging 35.3 saves per game. The Ducks allow the most shots on goal in the league over their last 10 games, averaging 35.7 shots per game.
When these two teams played just 20 days ago, Dostal had to come in relief of an injured John Gibson, but combined, these two had 33 saves on 34 shots on goal. Gibson’s availability is still in question for tonight’s game. If he were to suit up as a backup goalie, the Ducks likely wouldn’t be comfortable throwing him into game action, which would, in turn, give Dostal a longer leash if things go awry.
