The Calgary Flames will be looking to snap a six-game losing streak against Dallas when they visit the Stars on Thursday night as +100 underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Calgary continued its uneven start to the season with a 4-3 overtime loss to the visiting Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday and now embarks on a three-game road trip that begins with Thursday night’s game at the American Airlines Center.

Flames at Stars | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Flames have enjoyed little success on the road since midway through last season. Calgary has posted wins in only two of the team’s past nine dates away from Scotiabank Saddledome, and in just seven of 18 such contests since February 1, according to the OddsShark NHL Database.
The team has also been owned by the Stars over the past two years, mustering just nine total goals in seven straight losses to the Stars since the start of the 2017/18 NHL campaign. That run includes three straight losses in Dallas, with the Stars blanking the Flames in their past two visits.
The Flames now return to Dallas looking to establish momentum in the early going of the season. The team opened up their schedule with a 5-3 road loss to the Colorado Avalanche as +110 underdogs, and have struggled to contain opposing shooters while surrendering a hefty 35.3 shots per game. The middling start has left Calgary stalled as a lengthy +2000 bet on the Stanley Cup odds, and deadlocked with the San Jose Sharks as +450 co-second favourites to repeat as Pacific Division champions.
The Stars return home as -125 home favourites at sports betting sites after earning their first victory of the young season, a 4-3 win in Washington on Tuesday as a +130 bet. Offensive production has been an issue for the Stars during their slow 1-3-0 start, with the club averaging just two goals per game over their three season-opening losses.
Dallas has also been outshot in each of its past three outings, and while the Stars have enjoyed steady success in home dates with Calgary they have largely struggled at home. The team has posted wins in just three of nine regular-season dates at American Airlines Center since early March, scoring two or fewer goals in six of those contests to maintain a 10-2 run for the UNDER in totals betting.
