The Calgary Flames will be looking to continue their recent domination of New Jersey when they host the Devils on Thursday night as -175 favourites on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Calgary has owned New Jersey in recent years, posting wins in five overall meetings including two clashes on home ice going into Thursday’s matchup at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Devils at Flames | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Flames outclassed the Devils in their last visit to Calgary back in March, posting a lopsided 9-4 win as heavy -425 chalk, and they have now averaged 4.2 goals per game while going 8-1-1 in their last 10 matchups. That’s good news for a Flames team that has struggled to score with consistency on home ice.
Calgary is coming off a narrow 4-3 win over the Arizona Coyotes as a -165 home wager, and has now posted wins in four of its past five home dates. The team has also flexed its offensive muscle of late, averaging 4.5 goals per game over its past four home dates, fueling a 3-0-1 run for the OVER at betting sites. However, the Flames have also been held to two or fewer goals on three occasions while going 3-2-1 in their past six overall contests.
Matthew Tkachuk has provided the offensive spark for the Flames during their recent surge, tallying five goals and three assists during a four-game points streak, and he has also racked up six goals and three assists in his past six appearances on home ice.
The Flames have enjoyed steady success of late when Tkachuk gets on the scoresheet, going 14-1-2 since New Year’s Eve in regular-season home dates when the feisty 21-year-old records at least one point.
The Devils will be looking to win three in a row for the first time since late last December as they arrive in Calgary pegged as +145 road underdogs. New Jersey has gotten its current five-game road trip off to a strong start, posting a pair of wins, capped by a 2-1 victory in Winnipeg as a +110 wager on Tuesday night.
A lack of offensive production on the road has been a major concern for the Devils, who have scored just 14 total goals during a 3-6-0 run away from Prudential Center, and they have already been shut out twice on the road this season.
