The Calgary Flames will be searching for an end to a five-game losing streak when they open a four-game road trip in St. Louis on Thursday night as +135 underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com
Calgary continued its skid with a narrow 3-2 loss to the visiting Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday night, which dumped the team’s record to 10-11-3 going into Thursday night’s game against the Blues at the Enterprise Center.

Once again, the Flames failed to generate offence despite outshooting the Avalanche by 33-26 margin in their defeat as -125 home chalk. For a seventh straight game, the Flames failed to find the back of the net in the first period, finally getting on the scoresheet late in the second period.
The Flames have now been shut out twice while scoring just five total goals during their five-game swoon, and now sit ahead of only the Detroit Red Wings with a meagre 2.50 goals scored per game this season. In addition, the UNDER has gone 18-6 in first-period totals betting over the Flames’ first 24 contests.
The Flames’ struggles have also been felt on the NHL futures, where they have tumbled to a +750 wager at betting sites to repeat as Pacific Division champions, while slipping to a +3000 wager on the Stanley Cup odds.
The Blues hit the ice for Thursday’s contest pegged as -155 home chalk after claiming a narrow 3-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning as +105 home underdogs on Tuesday night. With the win St. Louis snapped a three-game losing streak. However, the Blues have also struggled on offence, scoring just 11 total goals over their past five contests, fueling a 5-0 run for the UNDER in totals betting, according to the OddsShark NHL Database.
Two of the three losses in the Blues’ recent slide came on home ice, ending a four-game home winning streak. The Blues kicked off the Flames’ current slump with a 3-2 win in Calgary on November 9, but have posted wins in just two of five head-to-head meetings on home ice since the start of the 2016/17 NHL season.
