The Calgary Flames will be looking to put the brakes on a two-game losing streak as they travel to the desert to face the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday as opening +109 underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Calgary closed out a four-game homestand with a 3-1 loss to Dallas on Wednesday, extending the offensive struggles that have seen the club tally two or fewer goals in three of five contests going into Saturday afternoon’s matchup at Gila River Arena.

The Flames were plagued by slow starts during their recent homestand, failing to score a first-period goal in each of their past four contests. Overall, the Flames have scored just 2.80 goals per game over their past five outings, dumping them to 22nd overall in the NHL in team scoring, and stalling their efforts to gain ground in the Pacific Division standings where they continue to lag five points back of the first-place Edmonton Oilers.
Calgary has avoided losing three in a row during the regular season since an 0-2-2 run back in early March. However, the team has also struggled to produce consistent results on the road this season, potting two or fewer goals on seven occasions while compiling a middling 4-6-1 record.
The Flames have largely dominated the Coyotes in recent years, earning the win in four of five meetings since the beginning of last season, according to the OddsShark NHL Database, capped by a 4-3 overtime victory on home ice as -165 chalk on November 5. The team has also taken away two points in five of seven road dates with Arizona, limiting the Coyotes to two or fewer goals in six of those contests.
That creates a challenge for the Coyotes, who find themselves enduring their first slump of the season as they prepare for Saturday’s contest as opening -120 chalk at online betting sites. The Coyotes closed out a three-game road trip with a 3-2 loss in Minnesota as a -105 wager on Thursday, marking their fourth loss in six outings.
Arizona has also come up short in three of its past four home contests, scoring just nine total goals during that stretch, and fueling a 7-3 run for the UNDER in totals betting over the team’s past 10 overall games.
