The Calgary Flames will be looking to rediscover their goal scoring touch on the road when they take on the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night as +120 underdogs on the NHL betting lines at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Calgary opened its current five-game road trip with a narrow 2-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets in this past weekend’s Heritage Classic in Regina, and has now averaged just 1.86 goals per game in seven road outings this season going into Tuesday’s game at PNC Arena.

The Flames have also been outshot in five of seven road dates this season, and have allowed an average of 37 shots on goal over their past three road dates. However, Calgary has largely managed to keep things close during the team’s recent road woes, limiting opponents to two or fewer goals in three of their past six road games.
And despite their road struggles, the Flames remain off to a respectable start, going 6-5-2 overall through their first 13 outings. That leaves the club just three points back of Edmonton in the hunt for top spot in the Pacific Division, and at +600 to repeat as division champions on the NHL futures at online betting sites.
The Hurricanes return to action as -145 favourites in Tuesday’s contest after opening a four-game homestand on Saturday with a decisive 4-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks as -200 chalk. The win proved timely for Carolina, which closed out a recent four-game road trip with three straight losses, killing the momentum they had gained from a 5-0-0 start to the season.
Overall, the Hurricanes have played steady hockey on home ice, going 4-1-0 through their first five outings, including three matchups settled by a single goal. However, Carolina was bounced from its early perch atop the Metropolitan Division during its recent road slide. The team has tumbled to third in the Metropolitan standings but has remained resilient on the divisional odds, closely trailing Washington as a +210 second favourite.
However, the Hurricanes have a lot of work to do to put the brakes on a three-game losing streak against Calgary. Overall, Carolina has lost five of seven to the Flames including a trio of home defeats, capped by a 4-3 loss as +105 underdogs back on February 3.
