After picking up victories in the first two games of their four-game road trip the Calgary Flames will be back in action on Wednesday night as they face off against the Los Angeles Kings as -140 road favourites on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Calgary won 6-2 at Vancouver to kick off their west-coast swing on Saturday night, and followed that up with a 6-2 victory at San Jose on Monday as -120 favourites at betting sites.

Six Flames skaters – Mikael Backlund, Matthew Tkachuk, Mark Jankowski, Zac Rinaldo, Tobias Rieder, and Milan Lucic – scored for Calgary in Monday night’s win, while David Rittich made 34 saves on 36 San Jose shots in the contest. Monday was an easy OVER result on the betting totals, the team’s second straight and sixth in their last eight games.
Prior to beating the Canucks and Sharks the Flames had lost five of their previous six games to knock them out of the top three spots in the Pacific Division standings and into the Western Conference’s wild card race. Since the start of January Calgary has won nine of 15 games.
The Kings, meanwhile, are well outside the playoff race and in last place in the Western Conference heading into Wednesday’s matchup, and are riding a five-game losing streak. Los Angeles fell 4-1 on the road at the Rangers in its last game on Sunday as a +160 underdog on the NHL odds; the Kings have just one victory over their 11 most recent outings.
Los Angeles managed to beat Calgary twice back in October, but the Flames topped the Kings 4-3 as heavy -210 home favourites on the betting lines in the most recent game between the teams on December 7. Sean Monahan, Dillon Dube, Milan Lucic, and Zac Rinaldo all scored for the Flames that day, with Anze Kopitar, Drew Doughty, and Matt Roy replying for the Kings. Cam Talbot was between the pipes for Calgary, stopping 30 of 33 shots.
Overall the Flames and Kings have split their last 10 meetings at five wins apiece, according to the OddsShark NHL Database, with the OVER paying off just four times in that stretch.
