Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new third jersey for the 2018-19 season: the old third jersey. In a stunning turn of events, the Calgary Flames have brought back their beloved retro third jerseys. The club announced the move on social media this morning.
The jerseys are blissfully simple: no writing on the inside of the collar, no shoulder yoke, no shoulder cresting and no changes to the classic striping. They are merely an Adidas refresh of the prior Reebok third jersey design from a few years back. Most importantly, the jerseys are red.
They’ll be sold via the Flames website and Flames Fanattic stores for the first week of availability, then made available more broadly.
The team has also announced that these sweet threads will be worn 12 times this season, all at home:
  • Sat., Oct. 6 vs. Vancouver
  • Wed., Oct. vs. Boston
  • Sat., Nov. 3 vs. Chicago
  • Thu., Nov. 15 vs. Montreal
  • Sat., Nov. 17 vs. Edmonton
  • Sat., Dec. 22 vs. St. Louis
  • Sat., Dec. 29 vs. Vancouver
  • Fri., Jan. 18 vs. Detroit
  • Wed., Feb. 20 vs. NY Islanders
  • Mon., Mar. 4 vs. Toronto
  • Fri., Mar. 15 vs. NYR
  • Sat., Apr. 6 vs. Edmonton
