With 35 bodies in camp, the Flames have four cuts to make essentially – three when you recall that Connor Mackey can’t go to Edmonton since he was signed after the trade deadline. So they’re trimming a goalie and two skaters or three skaters. Also of note: Juuso Valimaki will be expansion exempt unless he plays a game, which may factor into the cuts decision-making.
The Flames begin their post-season on Sat., Aug. 1 when they face the Winnipeg Jets. They will have one exhibition game before then, with opponent and date to be announced.
