After a few weeks and eight games – and a lot of cuts in between – the Calgary Flames finish off their exhibition schedule on Friday evening when they host the Winnipeg Jets. The Flames were not particularly good against the Jets on Wednesday, and they’ll be looking to put a better performance forward.
Puck drop is after 7 p.m. MT on the Flames website and Sportsnet 960 The Fan!

Unavailable Flames

A few Flames are unavailable for tonight:
  • Oliver Kylington is on personal leave from the team
  • Emilio Pettersen, Martin Pospisil and Dennis Gilbert are day-to-day with injuries

What to watch

In terms of roster or lineup decisions, with the top two lines and top two defensive pairings seemingly locked in:
  • Radim Zohorna gets a second game, this time with Mikael Backlund and Blake Coleman.
  • Adam Ruzicka slides down to play fourth line centre, auditioning for a job that seemed to be either his or Kevin Rooney’s.
  • Connor Mackey slides in on his off side on the third pairing; he’s played that side off and on in Stockton over the past couple of seasons and if he can do it well at the NHL level, perhaps he’s here on Oct. 13.
