FlamesNation prospect update: World Junior season looms

Suddenly, it’s December. The holiday season approaches and, with it, the World Junior Championship tournament. A few Flames prospects could be going. Let’s dive in.

Lucas Feuk- LW, AIK, Superelit/Allsvenskan

Gawdin continues to be among Stockton’s most consistent offensive contributors. He had a point per game this past week and is scoring just shy of that pace through 20 games.

Kirkland continues to be a quietly productive player for the Heat. He’s a bit older than some of the other prospects, but he’s shown the ability to play in tons of different situations and contribute.

Nikolayev had a productive week as he pushed his production to just shy of a point per game. He had a multi-point game and a stat correction from a prior game. He has a decent shot of playing for Russia at the World Juniors.

Stop me if you’ve heard this before: Pelletier had another good week. He had goals in every game of the week and polished off the weekend with a four point game.

Pelletier is one of 17 forwards invited to Canada’s World Junior camp.

Phillips continues to purr along offensively. He plays in every situation and keeps the Heat headed in the right direction. He’s their leading scorer at the moment.
