Lance Bouma out with upper-body injury

The Calgary Flames’ injury woes appear to be getting worse.
Just one game after losing Kris Versteeg to a groin injury, it appears that they could be without Lance Bouma for a while. The winger left last night’s game against Los Angeles with an apparent upper-body injury and will not suit up tonight for the Flames. He’ll be further evaluated when the team returns from their road trip.
Bouma was hit cleanly by Dwight King in the defensive zone, but it seems like his torso twisted awkwardly on the collision. He left the ice immediately afterwards and went down the tunnel to the locker room, and didn’t play another shift in the game.
Sportsnet colour analyst Louie DeBrusk noted on the broadcast that Bouma didn’t return to the bench after going to the Flames locker room in the second period.
He had a laundry list of injuries last season, missing time with three separate injuries: 30 games with a broken leg early in the season, four games with a leg laceration shortly after returning from the broken leg, and then another late-season upper-body injury that cost him time at the end of the season.
