Saturday night was a milestone night for Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk. When Tkachuk hit the ice for Calgary’s game against the Minnesota Wild, he was playing in his 400th regular season game in the National Hockey League.
Tkachuk, 24, was the sixth overall selection in the 2016 NHL Draft. Since his selection, he’s play the most games of anybody in his draft class and is second behind only Toronto’s Auston Matthews in points by players drafted in the 2016 class.
Tkachuk is the 37th player in Flames franchise history to play 400 games for the club, as well as just the 23rd Flames-drafted player to spend that long with the franchise.
He commemorated his 400th regular season game in style, as he scored a power play goal in the first period.
