For the unfamiliar, Nation Drafts is a free fantasy game that allows you to throw on your GM’s hat and put together a team that will give you the chance at prizes and glory. My friends, NationDrafts is here for the second half of the season and we’ve got some fantastic prizes to give away to our winners.
After missing out on the first three and a half months of the season, we felt like Nation readers suffered without a free fantasy draft for long enough and we wanted to give everyone a chance to put their hockey genius to work. We wanted to put something together that allows each and every one of you to build a fantasy team that is capable of winning prizes and Internet immortality. That’s why we’ve dusted off the Nation Drafts site, upgraded the tech a little bit, tracked down a great sponsor in Daytona Homes, and fired up the old draft machine for the second half of the season. Friends, it’s time to fantasy GM!
With hockey’s home stretch upon us, there are meaningful games on the docket and we all have the opportunity for not only another Nation Draft to flex our hockey knowledge but also to partake another favourite Nation past time – the merciless trash talking of complete strangers. I mean, let’s be honest, holding bragging rights for life over the heads of your friends and Internet nemesis is a wonderful feeling and having killer prizes available is the cherry on top of our draft sundae. Combined, prizes and glory bring about a sense of power that every hockey fan should feel. Enter Nation Drafts.
THE RULES
The rules of this draft are simple. After signing up (***FOR FREE!***) using your email address, we’ll present you with boxes of players and it will be up to you to select a name from each box until you’ve put together a super squad that can contend for a Nation Drafts championship. Seems easy, right? That’s because it IS easy. With that big ol’ hockey brain of yours, this here draft should be a breeze. Unless, of course, you’re scared of failure and the resulting ridicule… You’re not scared, are you? No, I didn’t think so.
But before we begin, I will warn you in advance that we’ve thrown a few grenades in the mix to keep you on your toes. If you think that you can just fly through this thing without putting much thought into your player choices then I promise you that you’re going to get burned. There will be players listed as options that are hurt, without contracts, and any other devious little trick that we could come up with to keep things fresh, and it’s up to you to navigate through the weeds.
Basically, what I’m telling you is that mailing it in with your picks is a dangerous game to play because you just might find yourself stepping in one of our boobytraps if you do.
THE PRIZES
Since no Nation Draft is complete without prizes, our friends at Daytona Homes have put together a prize list that offers you the chance to win something substantial. Not only does Daytona Homes want you to play in the draft, but they also want your impending victory to result in a prize befitting of your excellence. Considering the draft is free to enter, I don’t want to hear any excuses about why you didn’t sign up and play along.
