The Calgary Flames will be looking to make it four wins in a row against Edmonton this season when they host the Oilers on Saturday as -155 favorites on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Calgary claimed victory in the most recent edition of the Battle of Alberta earlier this week, tallying a 4-3 shootout win in Edmonton on Wednesday to improve to 7-2-1 in the past 10 meetings between the provincial rivals going into Saturday night’s matchup at Scotiabank Saddledome.
Oilers at Flames | OddsShark Matchup Report
The Flames’ victory over the Oilers this week snapped a two-game losing streak and an overall 1-3-0 run. With the win as +100 road underdogs, the Flames seized sole possession of second place in the Pacific Division standings, at least temporarily, and climbed alongside the Vegas Golden Knights as +325 co-second favorites to repeat as divisional champions at online sports betting sites.
And while the Flames have taken steps to overcome their recent struggles on the road, they have largely been successful in recent dates at Scotiabank Saddledome, The club suffered a 5-4 loss to the visiting St. Louis Blues as -120 chalk in their first outing following a 10-day break, after posting wins in each of their previous three home contests.
The Calgary offense has also shown signs of rebounding from its recent swoon. The team has tallied eight total goals in their past two contests after averaging just two goals per game in their previous six. With Flames shooters finding the back of the net, the OVER has now covered in three straight contests, a trend that extends to recent dates on home ice, where the OVER is on a 6-1-0 run, according to the OddsShark NHL Database.
The Flames have also maintained their offensive touch in recent dates with the Oilers, averaging 4.33 goals per game in their three victories this season, and have potted four or more goals in five of their past seven meetings.
However, the Flames cannot afford to underestimate the Oilers, who arrive in town on a steady 3-1-1 run on the road, and sporting +135 odds to claim their first victory in Calgary in four visits since December 2018. Edmonton has endured a busy week, playing three games in four nights, including a home date with the Blues on Friday, but is 3-0-0 in the second half of back-to-back games this season.
