Two days removed from a gutting loss to Anaheim, the simulated Calgary Flames headed to Vancouver for their last road game of the virtual 2019-20 season on March 27. In another back and forth contest, the Flames held on and gutted out a tight 4-3 victory over the division-leading Canucks.

Lineups

Flames:
  • Forwards: Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm, Mangiapane-Backlund-Tkachuk, Lucic-Ryan-Dube, Bennett-Jankowski-Rieder
  • Defense: Giordano-Brodie, Hanifin-Hamonic, Gustafsson-Andersson
  • Goalies: Rittich starting, Talbot as backup
Cam Talbot lost his last start and it’s been 10 days since David Rittich’s last outing on Long Island, so he’s back in net.
Canucks:
  • Forwards: Pearson-Horvat-Boeser, Miller-Pettersson-Toffoli, Roussel-Gaudette-MacEwen, Motte-Sutter-Virtanen
  • Defense: Hughes-Tanev, Edler-Stecher, Fantenberg-Myers
  • Goalies: Markstrom starting, with DemkoG as backup

Results

The Flames rallied back to tie the game in the first period. Then they spotted themselves a second period lead, blew that lead, and then rallied back late in the game to retake the lead and hold on for the huge regulation victory.
