The Calgary Flames lost to the Vegas Golden Knights by a 6-2 score on Saturday night. Here are selected reactions following the game.

Incomplete effort

So, uh, the Flames weren’t particularly good in Vegas. And they seem to pretty acutely aware of this fact.
“If you make mistakes against a team like this, they’re going to punish you,” said Rasmus Andersson. “And that’s what they did… We have moments where we’re really good, but we haven’t found our game for 60 minutes yet.”
For what it’s worth, Andersson took the blame for the fifth goal – the one where Sam Bennett and Mark Jankowski collided, everyone looked around in confusion, and Ryan Reaves calmly walked around Andersson as if he were a pylon.
What can the Flames learn from this, uh, result? Andersson: “We’ve got to be ready to play. The first period was not good. We haven’t played good for 60 minutes yet.”

The coach wasn’t pleased

From colleague Wes Gilbertson of Postmedia, a pretty scathing indictment of the team’s effort from head coach Bill Peters:

Stone vs. Stone

This was the seventh regular season meeting of the Brothers Stone. Between his time with Ottawa and Vegas, Mark’s teams have beaten Michael’s teams four times so far.
Mark looked really good for Vegas, while Michael (and TJ Brodie) struggled.
