The Calgary Flames’ slide ended on Saturday night. They led for much of the game, though the Winnipeg Jets clawed back into a tie in the second period. The Flames had a good third period and won 4-2.
Here are some selected quotes from the post-game media addresses.

Johnny Gaudreau

On Saturday morning, Flames coach Darryl Sutter was critical of Gaudreau’s performance on Friday. He responded with an assist and a lot of looks in the win. He discussed Sutter’s comments post-game.
I heard it. Didn’t think much of it. I’ve been playing hockey for 24, 25 years now and I know when I haven’t played well and when I have played well.

Darryl Sutter

Sutter commented on Gaudreau’s performance and his comments that his energy level wasn’t good on Friday.
I didn’t suggest it, it was a fact. He was much better tonight. I think his pace was better. Quite honestly, it was the best game he’s played since I joined the team.
Sutter commented on Michael Stone’s return, playing his first NHL game since Feb. 25, 2020.
Good on him. Since I’ve been here, and I’m sure the players feel the same way, he’s worked his tail off. He’s battled back from injury. He’s been on the stay-ready squad and he stepped in and he didn’t miss a beat. We needed his minutes and quite honestly we needed his experience back there and his composure.
Sutter commented on the healthy scratches for Dillon Dube and Juuso Valimaki.
They’ve gotta be better players for us. Okay is not okay in this racket.
