The #flyers are looking for a third-round pick back for James van Riemsdyk. Vegas, Winnipeg and Seattle among those with interest. Calgary has inquired, too, but no longer seem to be in a buying frame of mind.

Report: Calgary Flames ‘no longer seem to be in a buying frame of mind’

The National Hockey League’s trade deadline arrives at 1 p.m. MT on Friday afternoon. The Calgary Flames arrived at the deadline in the midst of a four game winless streak (0-2-2) and with just three wins in their last 10 games.
As you might expect, that’s impacted their appetite to add to their group, per a report from NorstarBets’ (and TSN contributor) Chris Johnston.
When your team has headed into the deadline with a 3-4-3 record, sits several points outside a playoff spot and has, according to several forecasts, a less than 50% chance of qualifying for the post-season, sending out draft picks to add rental players to your group may not be the most prudent course of action.
(The Flames also already traded their 2023 third-round pick to Seattle in the Calle Jarnkrok trade at last year’s trade deadline.)
The Flames are back in action on Saturday night against the Minnesota Wild.
