The Calgary Flames announced their pre-season schedule on Friday morning, outlining the eight games they’ll be playing as tune-ups for the 2023-24 season. The eight game schedule is consistent with past years, and sees them playing exhibition games against Vancouver, Seattle, Winnipeg and Edmonton.
The announced schedule is as follows:
  • Sun., Sept. 24: vs. Vancouver (6 p.m. MT)
  • Mon., Sept. 25: vs. Seattle (7 p.m. MT) and at Seattle (8 p.m. MT), split squad format
  • Wed., Sept. 27: at Winnipeg (6 p.m. MT)
  • Fri., Sept. 29: vs. Edmonton (7 p.m. MT)
  • Mon., Oct. 2: vs. Winnipeg (7 p.m. MT)
  • Wed., Oct. 4: at Edmonton (7 p.m. MT)
  • Fri., Oct. 6: at Vancouver (8 p.m. MT)
Broadcast plans weren’t announced. In past years, the Flames website has streamed the games and Sportsnet 960 has broadcast them live on radio. We’ll share plans as they’re officially announced.
The pre-season is preceded by the Young Stars Classic tournament in Penticton, BC, which runs Sept. 15-18.
Based on the CBA and its rules on how long training camps are allowed to run, the 2023-24 roster deadline should be Mon., Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. MT and the opening day of the season should be Tues., Oct. 10.
