The American Hockey League announced their slate of home-openers on Tuesday. The Calgary Wranglers will begin their second season in October, but they’re the AHL final team to host their home-opener.
They’ll be opening their home schedule on Sat., Oct. 28 when they host the Colorado Eagles.
The Wranglers/Eagles game starts at 1 p.m. MT and is the first half of a Saturday double-header at the Saddledome; the Calgary Hitmen host the Red Deer Rebels at 7 p.m. that evening. The double-header is part of a stretch where the Saddledome hosts events on six consecutive days:
  • The Flames host the New York Rangers on Tues., Oct. 24
  • The Doobie Brothers play the ‘Dome on Wed., Oct. 25
  • The Flames host St. Louis on Thu., Oct. 26
  • Tool plays the ‘Dome on Fri., Oct. 27
  • The Wranglers host Colorado and the Hitmen host Red Deer on Sat., Oct. 28
  • The Hitmen host Portland on Sun., Oct. 29
The Wranglers are the visiting team for two other clubs’ home-openers: they visit the Manitoba Moose on Fri., Oct. 13 and the Abbotsford Canucks on Fri., Oct. 20, presumably both as part of multi-game visits.
The AHL releases their full 2023-24 schedule on Wednesday.
