The Calgary Flames return to Anaheim’s Honda Center tonight for their first of three visits to Orange County this season. The Flames have lost their last 20 regular season dates in that building, dating back to the spring of 2004.
Here’s a quick and dirty trip down memory lane at 11 years and 20 games worth of futility.

THE GAMES

As you can see, the Calgary Flames have lost many regular season games, in many ways, over the past decade in Anaheim.
  1. 2-1 Loss (April 4, 2004)
  2. 4-1 Loss (October 26, 2005)
  3. 4-3 Loss (April 17, 2006)
  4. 5-3 Loss (November 26, 2006)
  5. 4-1 Loss (December 18, 2006)
  6. 4-2 Loss (February 17, 2008)
  7. 3-1 Loss (February 29, 2008)
  8. 3-2 Loss (November 2, 2008)
  9. 3-2 Overtime Loss (Feburary 11, 2009)
  10. 3-2 Shootout Loss (November 23, 2009)
  11. 5-4 Loss (January 17, 2010)
  12. 3-2 Shootout Loss (December 10, 2010)
  13. 5-4 Overtime Loss (March 20, 2011)
  14. 3-2 Shootout Loss (February 6, 2012)
  15. 3-2 Loss (March 2, 2012)
  16. 4-0 Loss (March 8, 2013)
  17. 3-2 Loss (October 16, 2013)
  18. 5-2 Loss (November 29, 2013)
  19. 3-2 Loss (November 25, 2014)
  20. 6-3 Loss (January 21, 2015)
That’s a lot of one-goal games, and a lot of games that were one-goal games prior to an empty-netter by the Ducks. All-told, the Flames only lost by three (or more) goals four times over the 20-game losing skid in Anaheim.

    THE GOALIES

Thirteen goaltenders have played, and lost, regular season games in Anaheim for the Calgary Flames during the streak.
    1. Roman Turek

    5. Curtis Joseph (twice)
