The last scrimmage of camp (7pm MT, Flames.com stream)

On Thursday, the Calgary Flames battled the Calgary Flames at the palatial Scotiabank Saddledome and came away with a 5-2 victory. On Monday evening, the two sides will do battle once more in a game fans can actually witness with their own two eyes.

Team Iginla faces Team McDonald with pride on the line, as the majority of roster spots are sewn up. The puck drops at 7 p.m. MT and you can catch the action on Sportsnet 960 The Fan or via a webcast on the Flames’ website.

Team McDonald has the team’s top two forward lines, their bottom two defensive pairings, and the backup goalie. It’s unclear if we’ll see Wolf tonight, so prospect honks should keep an eye on #47, Connor Zary, who was the club’s first rounder back in October and will be one of the most exciting players to watch whenever the WHL gets going again.

A lot of us are familiar with Josh Leivo because he played in two of the biggest markets in English-speaking Canada. But Dominik Simon may be a bit under-the-radar for a guy who played so often with Sidney Crosby. If he can create some chemistry with Gaudreau and Monahan, suddenly the Flames look like a very deep and dangerous hockey club.
