The Calgary Flames are in the midst of a winning streak. Their current seven game streak is one of just 11 such streaks dating back to the club’s founding in Atlanta back in 1972.

Some notes

The 1978 winning streak followed a pair of ties, making the Flames 10-0-2 to begin the season. They didn’t register their first loss until Nov. 4 in the second half of a back-to-back.
The 1988 winning streak was followed by a tie, then another five game winning streak.
The 1989 winning streak was preceded by three wins and a tie.
The 1992-93 winning streak was preceded by a win and a tie.
Yes, the Flames went over 12 years between lengthy winning streaks. And then it was another 10 years until their next one.
The 2017 winning streak was preceded by a win and an overtime loss.
The 2017-18 winning streak was followed by four overtime and shootout losses in a row.
