The Calgary Flames will be aiming to stay undefeated so far in 2020 when they return home on Thursday to face the Minnesota Wild as -150 favourites on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Calgary capped a brief two-game road trip with a 2-1 win in Chicago on Tuesday, and has now posted victories in each of its three January contests to date going into Thursday night’s matchup at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Wild at Flames | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Flames claimed victory by just a single goal in each of their three recent wins, including a narrow 5-4 victory in Minnesota on Sunday. However, that still marks a dramatic improvement over their performance over the previous three weeks, with the team falling to defeat in six of eight outings during that stretch, including losses in five home contests, four by multi-goal margins.
The team received a much-needed steady performance from Cam Talbot between the pipes in Tuesday’s victory over the Blackhawks as -135 road chalk at betting sites. The Flames had surrendered a worrisome 4.25 goals per game over their previous four outings, and have surrendered at least four goals in four of their past five contests at Scotiabank Saddledome.
The Flames’ porous defence on home ice has generated steady returns for those taking the OVER in totals betting, which has prevailed in four straight and gone 6-2-1 in the team’s past nine. But despite last weekend’s high-scoring affair in Minnesota, meetings between these two teams have largely been low scoring, with the total topping six in just two of their past seven, extending a trend favouring the UNDER, which has gone 7-2-2 over their past 11.
Idle since Sunday’s loss to the Flames, the Wild arrive in Calgary for Thursday’s contest pegged as +130 underdogs. Overall, Minnesota has now fallen to defeat in three of its past four games while scoring just nine total goals during that stretch. However, the Wild offence has been clicking in the team’s past two road contests, scoring 14 total goals in impressive victories in Arizona and Colorado.
The Wild have also earned wins in five of their past eight road dates with Calgary, and have limited the Flames to two goals in each of their past three visits, capped by a 4-2 victory as a +165 wager on March 2.
