Breaking – Flames Trade for Dougie Hamilton (OFFICIAL)

This all happened very quickly. Here’s how it all went down:
It goes without saying that this is a massive deal for the Flames. They have firmed up their greatest area of need (another top-4 defender) with a legitimately premier 22-year old blue liner. And they did it without surrendering a foundational prospect or roster player.
Hamilton is a pending free agent and reportedly asking for a $6M+ contract – far too much for the cap strapped Bruins to absorb this off-season. The Flames have no such issues, however.
We’ll have more on how good Hamilton is later. For now, break out the high fives Flames fans. Brad Treliving just pulled off a robbery.
