<p>The 2022 NHL Awards season has come and gone, and now we can take a gander at how many Calgary Flames won awards or were on various ballots.</p>

<h2><strong>Preamble</strong></h2>
<p>The Professional Hockey Writers Association had 195 ballots submitted for the trophies, 192 for the all-star teams and 196 for the all-rookie team. (The NHL Broadcasters Association voted for the Jack Adams and the league&#8217;s general managers voted for the Vezina Trophy. Neither group released individual ballot information. There was no voting breakdown released by the NHLPA for the Ted Lindsay Award.)</p>
<p>Six members of Calgary-area media submitted ballots as part of the PHWA: Eric Duhatschek (The Athletic), Eric Francis (Sportsnet), Wes Gilbertson (Postmedia), Darren Haynes (Canadian Press), Hailey Salvian (The Athletic) and myself.</p>
<h2><strong>Hart Memorial Trophy</strong></h2>
<p>Johnny Gaudreau finished fourth overall and was named on 168 on 195 ballots. He received three first-place votes [from Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press, Craig Button of TSN, and Ken Wiebe of Sportsnet].</p>
<p>Matthew Tkachuk received a single fifth-place vote [from Marc du Foy of Le Journal de Montreal] and finished tied for 14th.</p>
<h2><strong>James Norris Memorial Trophy</strong></h2>
<p>Chris Tanev received a single fifth-place vote [from Thomas Drance of The Athletic] and finished tied for 15th.</p>
<h2><strong>Frank J. Selke Trophy</strong></h2>
<p>Elias Lindholm finished second overall and was named on 157 of 195 ballots. He received 21 first-place votes.</p>
<p>Mikael Backlund finished 13th overall and was named on 11 ballots.</p>
<p>Johnny Gaudreau received a fourth-place vote [from Eric Engels of Sportsnet] and finished tied for 27th</p>
<p>Matthew Tkachuk received a fourth-place vote [from Greg Wyshynski of ESPN] and finished tied for 27th</p>
<h2><strong>Lady Byng Memorial Trophy</strong></h2>
<p>Johnny Gaudreau finished ninth overall and was named on 28 ballots. He received four first-place votes [from Ian Mendes of The Athletic, Lance Hornby of the Toronto Sun, Wayne Gretzky of TNT and Jeff Marek of Sportsnet].</p>
<p>Elias Lindholm received two third-place votes [from Tim Rosenthal of Bruins Daily and Pat Hickey of the Montreal Gazette] and a fifth-place vote [from Stephen Conroy of the Boston Herald] and finished 36th.</p>
<p>Oliver Kylington received one fourth-place vote [from Mark Spector of Sportsnet] and a fifth-place vote [from Steve Simmons of Postmedia] and finished tied for 55th.</p>
<p>Calle Jarnkrok received one fifth-place vote [from Lance Lysowski of the Buffalo News] and finished tied for 66th.</p>
<h2><strong>Bill Masterton Memorial Award</strong></h2>
<p>Chris Tanev received one third-place vote [from Daniel Wagner of Vancouver is Awesome]. We couldn&#8217;t find a voting tally, but Tanev didn&#8217;t finish particularly high in the voting.</p>
<h2><strong>Vezina Trophy</strong></h2>
<p>Jacob Markstrom finished second overall and was named on 25 of 32 ballots.</p>
<h2><strong>Jack Adams Award</strong></h2>
<p>Darryl Sutter finished first overall and was named on 93 of 121 ballots.</p>
<h2><strong>All-Star Teams</strong></h2>
<p>Elias Lindholm received one third-place vote at centre [from Chris Johnston of NorthStar Bets] and finished 10th.</p>
<p>Johnny Gaudreau finished first at left wing and was named on 189 of 192 ballots.</p>
<p>Matthew Tkachuk finished second at right wing and was named on 133 of 192 ballots at that position. He also received one third-place vote at left wing [from Pat Hickey of the Montreal Gazette] and finished tied for ninth. (If he had gotten that third-place vote at right wing, he wouldn&#8217;t have finished any higher.)</p>
<p>Jacob Markstrom finished second at goaltender and was named on 137 of 192 ballots. He received one first-place vote [from Jonathan Bernier of Le Journal de Montreal].</p>
<p>Chris Tanev received one third-place vote at defense [from Thomas Drance of The Athletic] and finished tied for 16th</p>
