Stray thoughts
- It’ll be really interesting to see whether the Wranglers elect to go back to Wolf in goal on Monday: My gut feeling? 100%, they will. Mitch Love knows what he has in his young star goaltender. He’s played well in back-to-back situations before and rebounded quickly after his disastrous AHL debut two seasons ago.
- Jakob Pelletier needs to have a moment. Right now, it feels a little bit like he’s lost in the shuffle. Pelletier is a player who thrives in high-intensity situations and it’s only a matter of time before he becomes a main character in a game again. The Wranglers’ top line is bound to come through at five-on-five before long.
- Emilio Pettersen skated in warm-ups before Sunday’s matinee game but ultimately did not dress. To be quite honest, the Wranglers would probably be better served by swapping Pettersen for Mitch McLain on that third line, but we’ll defer to the coaching staff.
- As always, you’ll be able to catch this one on AHL TV with Sandra Prusina on the call. We’re also hoping to integrate some additional Wrangler coverage into the local sports media scene this year, whether it be through our own shows or the local sports radio station — stay tuned for updates on that front. So far, it looks like there’s a huge appetite for Wranglers content!
