The accolades keep piling up for @Dustin Wolf.
On Monday, the American Hockey League named Wolf its “goaltender of the month” for December. The 20-year-old Gilroy, CA product posted a perfect 7–0–0 record with the Stockton Heat last month to go along with a .951 save percentage and a 1.40 goals-against average.
The Calgary Flames originally selected Wolf with the fourth-last pick in the seventh round of the 2019 NHL Draft. Since then, the 6’0″, 170-pound goaltender has excelled at every level of competition. He is the back-to-back reigning winner of the Western Hockey League’s goaltender of the year award and captured a similar accolade from the Canadian Hockey League in 2019–20.
Wolf appeared in two games with Team USA at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship and ended up taking home a gold medal as @Spencer Knight’s backup. In 20 career AHL games with the Heat, Wolf has a 17–1–2 record and a .936 save percentage.
Thus far in 2021–22, Wolf has yet to record a single regulation loss in 17 appearances. He has the league’s best win-loss record (15–0–2) and its second-best save percentage (.942), although he’s still searching for his first AHL shutout.
Wolf and the Heat will return to action on Jan. 4 to take on the Tucson Roadrunners at 6:30 p.m. MT.
