Flames Interested in Viktor Tikhonov

Calgary is popping up in a lot of rumours today. Clearly the Flames brass has decided to be extremely aggressive this season, in contrast to their relatively passive summer last year. Amazing what a little success can do.
The latest target seems to be KHL forward Viktor Tikhonov.
Tikhonov is a former Coyotes first rounder. The 28-year old had one, decent season in the NHL before fleeing to the KHL in what seemed like a permanent move back in 2011. He has expressed interest in returning to the NHL recently, however, after putting up four decent seasons for St. Petersburgh Ska.
Tikhonov is a 6’2″ right shooting forward who can play either wing. In 182 games in the KHL, Tikhonov scored 115 points for a 0.63 PPG pace, which is decent but not incredible. Unfortunately, we can’t really inspect the finer points of his game from a numbers perspective, so his point totals is all we can really go on for now.
Stay tuned.
