The Flames have re-signed RFA defenceman Juuso Valimaki to a two-year contract worth $1.55 million per season, the club announced Friday afternoon.
Valimaki, 22, appeared in 49 games for the Flames in 2020–21, scoring two goals and 11 points. He also scored 19 points in 19 games with Tampereen Ilves of the Finnish Liiga earlier in the season.
Calgary selected Valimaki in the first round, 16th overall, of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. He missed the entirety of the 2019–20 season after suffering a torn ACL during summer training.
With Valimaki signed, the Flames only have four remaining RFAs to sign: Dillon Dube, Connor Mackey, Glenn Gawdin, and Justin Kirkland.
