This is one of those games where the totals aren’t really indicative of the play. The Flames reeled things in when the outcome was no longer in doubt and the Canucks were in cruise control. Before Vancouver took a commanding lead, they also had a commanding chance advantage (16-4).
Not a lot of the game was played at ES so the difference didn’t really show up there. The separation between the two club’s PPs was very obvious however: the Canucks move the puck through with ease while the Flames are still struggling to do anything of note.
This happens every so often when you meet a very good team. Take the lumps and move on.
