Flames were marginally outchanced, tonight, but they led all evening so it’s actually not an indictment of their play. Even more impressive, Calgary ended up leading the chance count in the third period even with the Red Wings chasing. Good stuff.
The move of Iginla with Jokinen and Glencross resulted in three goals for the line, but he was still outchanced at ES 3-5. I liked his game in the offensive end more this time around, but there’s still some neutral zone and defensive zone definicies there. Frankly, that’s the player he is now so fans will have to take the good with the bad.
Although they only marked the scoresheet once, the Tanguay, Stempniak line was the only trio in the black at ES tonight. They had several quality shifts marked with chances, but the only puck that went in was a poor angle effort by Stempniak. Oh well.
