Flames were the better team at ES tonight and that was the reason they won the game. Well…that and some really fortunate bounces. Three of Calgary’s five markers came well outside of the chance area.
Despite leading almost all night, Calgary handily outshot the Wild and outchanced them at 5on5. The only reason Minny ended up with more chances was their PP (seven chances). They had a number of opportunities and Calgary’s PK continues to be really rough around the edges.
Most of the forward units were decent and Jarome was a lot more involved tonight, which is good news. The lone problem was the Horak/Tanguay/Bourque line who were the only trio under water in terms of chances and possession somehow. It mostly wasn’t the kids fault either…Tangs and Bourque were dreadful all night.
