Chances ended up even, but that’s with the Flames leading things for half the contest so it’s actually a pretty strong night considering Calgary was protecting most of the time.

The first period was poor, but the Flames took over in the second and the Wild were never really in the game after the 2 goal in 18 seconds thing. The first line of Tanguay-Stajan-Iginla were put into good position to score tonight (most offensive zone draws) and they took advantage, largely dominating. The Backlund line was also pretty strong despite the scoring chance numbers, with more defensive zone draws and a lot time versus Mikko Koivu.

Problems endure, however: the PP is still pretty punchless and the Moss line had their second straight blah performance. If the Flames can get all three forward lines firing a the same time, they might actually have something here.
