A Shoot-out is the natural outcome to a game this tightly contested. Either team took turns "dominating" (if one could call that) at certain portions, although there were large stretches of neither club doing anything in particular.
I liked Iginla by eye this evening, but the numbers tell some other stories. He was underwater by corsi and scoring chances even though he had 10 ES face-offs to 3 in the defensive zone. He played against Koivu a lot, but that’s not the best night of work.
Moss and Glencross had a better night again, despite the fact that Bourque was somehow far under water all on his own. Not sure what is up with that guy. At least he scored in the shoot-out though. Jokinen also had a rare decent night in terms of basics, although his ability to do anything of note with the puck on his stick in the offensive zone continues to erode.
