Another low event game that went the other way this time. You’re always kind of dancing with the devil when you try to limit things both ways – it really comes down to which team scores first or gets the better bounce. Flames and Sharks were pretty close up until San Jose broke the stalemate in the third. The Flames ran things up chasing after that, but there was precious little time left.
Don’t read too much into Jarome’s +1 scoring differential. Four of his eight chances for came in the last few minutes with the Sharks sitting back. Before that he was under water by all measures. A pretty rough night for the captain who only managed one shot on net and wasn’t even matched against Joe Thornton. Jarome didn’t do much vs Edmonton the other night either, so maybe the break is coming at the right time for him.
