Gang, the folks at Sportsnet officially announced their national broadcast plans for the 2026-27 season on Wednesday morning, meaning we now have some clarity in terms of how hockey fans can watch their favourite teams from their living rooms in the coming season.

For Calgary Flames fans, here’s what you need to know about following the Flames’ game broadcasts from your cozy home over the coming season.

Remember Hockey Night in Canada? Well, it’s called Saturday Night Hockey, and there won’t be games on CBC anymore, but functionally it’ll be the same as usual. The Flames will have 21 games on Saturday Night Hockey on Sportsnet TV channels (or via Sportsnet+), including all four meetings this season with the Vancouver Canucks.

The final regular season game at the Saddledome on Apr. 10 will be a Saturday Night Hockey telecast.

A new wrinkle in Sportsnet’s national coverage this season is Monday Night Hockey. Rather than being a TV product, it’s going to be exclusively offered on Sportsnet+, their streaming service.

If you already subscribe to Sportsnet+ directly (or get Sportsnet via getting TV through Rogers or Shaw), you’ll automatically have access to Monday Night Hockey broadcasts. If you’re a Sportsnet subscriber via a TV provider other than Rogers or Shaw, you’ll need to an additional upgrade subscription (for $12.99 per month).

The Flames have eight Monday Night Hockey games exclusive to Sportsnet+ this season.

If you’re living in the Flames’ broadcast region, and have Sportsnet channels or Sportsnet+, you’ll have access to 51 Flames regional broadcasts.

Finally, the Flames will have four games streamed on Amazon Prime’s Wednesday Night Hockey.

If you’re looking to have as few things to sign up for as possible, you’ll need two subscriptions: Sportsnet+ and Amazon Prime.

That said, Sportsnet+’s app isn’t available on every smart TV like Amazon Prime is, so if you want to watch every game on a big TV, you’ll probably need a Sportsnet TV subscription and an Amazon subscription. And then you’ll need to try your luck with Sportsnet+ via the app – or fumbling to connect your laptop with an HDMI cord – for the eight other games.
