Calgary Flames forward @Andrew Mangiapane is off to an incredible start to the 2021–22 season.

The 25-year-old winger scored two goals in Tuesday&#8217;s game against the New Jersey Devils, catapulting him over the likes of @Connor McDavid, @Anze Kopitar, and @Kyle Connor to move into a tie for the NHL&#8217;s goal-scoring lead.
Mangiapane, @Elias Lindholm, and @Alex Ovechkin are all currently tied for first place with seven goals. Lindholm scored once in Tuesday&#8217;s game to keep pace with Mangiapane.
Prior to Ovechkin&#8217;s two-goal performance on Monday, Lindholm ranked in a tie for first in the league with six goals. This is Mangiapane&#8217;s first time leading the Maurice &#8220;Rocket&#8221; Richard Trophy race this season.

The Flames won Tuesday&#8217;s game in New Jersey by a 5-3 score, improving to 4-1-1 on the season. Mangiapane scored twice; Lindholm, @Milan Lucic, and @Matthew Tkachuk added goals for Calgary. Goaltender @Dan Vladar stopped 27 of 30 shots for his second win as a Flame.
