For the first time in over 1,300 days, Gabriel Landeskog has scored a regular season goal.
During the Colorado Avalanche’s 4-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday, the Avalanche captain scored his first regular season goal since Mar. 5, 2022. The Swede pounced on a juicy rebound, slotting it past the Ducks’ netminder for what went down as the game-winning goal.
While this was his first regular season goal since the 2021-22 season, Landeskog returned in the 2025 post-season, scoring a goal in Game 4 en route to an Avalanche victory. Moreover, he scored in the Avalanche’s 9-1 victory over the Oilers on Saturday, but after a review, it was deemed to be offside.
The last time Landeskog was on the ice in a National Hockey League game before rejoining the Avalanche for their 2025 post-season was back when he was hoisting the Stanley Cup above his head in the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals. Landeskog missed the entirety of the 2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25 due to a knee injury.
It’s good to see the Avalanche captain return to action, and in turn, the Avalanche have started the season 11-1-5 for a league-leading 27 points.

Avalanche extend Gavin Brindley

Sticking with Avalanche news, they extended forward Gavin Brindley, signing him to a two-year deal worth $850,000 on Tuesday. The contract will kick in for the 2026-27 season.
Brindley was drafted 34th overall in the 2023 draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets. After two seasons with the University of Michigan, he made his NHL debut in 2023-24, and spent the entirety of the 2024-25 season in the American Hockey League.
During the draft, the Avalanche acquired Brindley and two picks from the Blue Jackets for Charlie Coyle and Miles Wood, which was a cap dump trade. Through 15 games this season, Brindley has three goals and five points.

David Pastrňák reaches 400 goals

On Tuesday, David Pastrňák scored his 400th career goal in the Boston Bruins’ 5-3 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
He scored in style as well, as he received a nice one-touch pass from Morgan Geekie for a breakaway, outmaneuvering the Maple Leafs’ netminder to deposit the puck into the back of the net. This goal turned out to be the game-winner as the Bruins moved their record to 11-7-0, second in the Atlantic Division.
Pastrňák was drafted 25th overall in the 2014 draft and has gone on to become a superstar for the Bruins. The Czech forward has reached the 100-point plateau in each of the past three seasons and has scored 40 or more goals in his last four seasons, reaching the 61-goal mark in 2022-23.
So far this season, the 29-year-old has 10 goals and 22 points in 18 games, on pace for 45 goals and 100 points.
