On Tuesday, the 2026-27 season will officially be a month old.
There aren’t a whole lot of surprises early into the season. Entering Monday’s slate of games, four Pacific Division teams currently occupy a playoff spot, with two other teams in striking distance as well, including the Calgary Flames.
Let’s take a look at how Pacific Division teams have performed since last Wednesday!

Anaheim Ducks

This past week, the Anaheim Ducks split their two games. On Oct. 22, they fell 4-1 to the New Jersey Devils, bringing their losing streak to five. However, they defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 5-4 on Saturday that featured a first period full of penalties.
With a 5-6-0 record, the Ducks sit on the outside looking in, two points out of a playoff spot. This week, they host the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday, the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday, and the Ottawa Senators on Sunday, the first game of November.

Calgary Flames

The Flames’ rebuild suffered a hit these last two games, as they picked up a 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Thursday and a 4-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday. Thanks to the pair of wins, the Flames are on a three-game winning streak, thanks in large part to three terrific games by Devin Cooley. All eight Pacific Division teams have played two games since Wednesday, the Flames are the only team to win both of them.
On Monday, the Flames wrap up their four-game home stand, taking on the Toronto Maple Leafs. They’ll head up Highway 2 on Wednesday for the first Battle of Alberta of the season, before returning home to host the Seattle Kraken on Friday. They’ll finish their week with a rematch against the Colorado Avalanche on Halloween.

Edmonton Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers had some real competition this past week, riding a red-hot power play to a 6-5 shootout victory over the reigning Stanley Cup champions, the Carolina Hurricanes. But on Saturday, they fell 7-2 to the Maple Leafs.
They’ll wrap up their five-game home stand with a match-up against the Red Wings on Monday and the Flames on Wednesday. They’ll then be off for two days before heading out east. On Saturday, they’ll play the New York Islanders, followed by a matchup against the New York Rangers the following day.

Los Angeles Kings

The Los Angeles Kings have finally won some games. In last week’s edition, their last game was a 5-2 victory over the Washington Capitals. They built off it with a 3-2 overtime victory against the Islanders, but fell 3-1 to the Devils on Saturday.
Even with the two wins, the Kings sit seventh in the Pacific Division thanks to a 2-5-2 record and six points. They’ll continue their road trip with a back-to-back against the Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks on Monday and Tuesday respectively, before returning home to host the Ottawa Senators on Thursday and the Sabres on Saturday.

San Jose Sharks

Like every team we’ve looked at so far except for the Flames, the San Jose Sharks split their two games since last Wednesday. On Thursday, they defeated the Senators 6-2, but fell 6-4 to the Boston Bruins on Saturday, ending their Eastern Conference road trip with a 3-2-1 record.
They’ll begin a four-game home stand this week. On Tuesday, they’ll host the Sabres, followed by the Canucks on Thursday and the Senators on Saturday. Entering Monday’s slate of games, the Sharks occupy the final wild card spot thanks to a 6-5-1 record, but it’s worth noting that only one of those wins have come in regulation.

Seattle Kraken

Of the eight Pacific Division teams, the Seattle Kraken’s start has been the most surprising. This past week, they defeated the Utah Mammoth 5-3 on home ice, but lost 5-1 to the Wild two days later, also in the city that created Grunge music.
Heading into this week, the Kraken sit third in the Pacific Division thanks to a 7-4-1 record, sitting two points behind both the Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights. This week, the Kraken play just two games, hosting the Maple Leafs on Wednesday, before heading north to take on the Flames on Friday.

Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks started the season 2-1-0, they haven’t won since their 4-1 victory over the Flames on Oct. 3. This past week, they fell 5-2 to the Red Wings on Thursday and 4-2 to the Wild on Sunday, moving their losing streak to 10.
Will the Canucks end this skid this week? On Tuesday, they’ll hit the road to play the Ducks, followed by a road game against the Sharks on Thursday. The Canucks wrap up their week and month with a home game against the Maple Leafs on Saturday.

Vegas Golden Knights

The 2026 Western Conference champions are on a bit of a skid here, as the Golden Knights enter the week on a three-game losing streak. Since last Wednesday, they fell 6-2 to the St. Louis Blues and 2-1 in overtime to the Columbus Blue Jackets, with both games coming on the road.
It’ll be another light week for the Golden Knights. On Tuesday, they host the Senators, followed by a match-up against the Devils on Friday to end their week and month. They have an equal number of points as the Oilers (17), but the Oilers have two games in hand to lead the Pacific Division entering this week.
