Calgary Flames general manager Brad Treliving <a href="https://twitter.com/Sportsnet960/status/1592262722124906496">appeared</a> on Monday&#8217;s edition of The Eric Francis Show on Sportsnet 960 The Fan to discuss his team and some of its new additions.

Treliving also provided a small update on the status of Flames defenceman Oliver Kylington, who burst onto the scene as a quality top-four option last season but has not yet joined the team this year while dealing with a personal issue.
The Flames re-signed Kylington over the summer to a two-year deal annually worth $2.5 million. The 25-year-old Swede recorded nine goals and 31 points while averaging 18:10 in 73 games with the Flames in the 2021–22 regular season.
Here&#8217;s what Treliving had to say about Kylington:
&#8220;At this time, Oliver remains in Sweden. We want to give him space, time, and privacy to deal with the things he&#8217;s going through. I&#8217;ve been in touch with him on a fairly regular basis, but there&#8217;s no update. We continue to ask people to respect his privacy.&#8221;

When Kylington did not join the Flames at the beginning of the club&#8217;s 2022 training camp, Treliving explicitly clarified that the defenceman is <a href="https://twitter.com/Fan960Steinberg/status/1572648118570688512?t=AmrXyfbPTtCFVVnx2U5UbQ&amp;s=19">not dealing</a> with &#8220;a substance issue&#8221; and again asked for people to give Kylington privacy.
Treliving has been the Flames&#8217; general manager throughout Kylington&#8217;s time in the NHL. The Flames selected Kylington in the second round (No. 60 overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft, Treliving&#8217;s second draft with the team.
Kylington debuted with the Flames late in the 2015–16 regular season and became more of a recurring presence in 2018–19, scoring three goals and eight points in 38 games with the team. He subsequently appeared in 48 games with the Flames in 2019–20 and nine in 2020–21 before becoming a regular in 2021–22.
In 168 career NHL games with the Flames over parts of five regular seasons, Kylington has scored 14 goals and 47 points. He added one goal and two assists in 12 games with the Flames during the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
