<p>The opening period was tight-checking, with few good scoring chances on either side. Rasmus Andersson pinched and joined a rush, sneaking in and scoring a wrist shot goal as the trailer to give the Flames a 1-0 lead.</p>
<p>The game really broke open in the second period. Off the opening draw, Johnny Gaudreau scored off the rush to make it 2-0. A little bit later, Andrew Mangiapane buried a feed off an offensive zone face-off win to make it 3-0. Jonathan Marchessault scored to get Vegas on the board, but Milan Lucic and Tobias Rieder scored to make it 5-1 Flames and really quiet the crowd down.</p>
<p>Sam Bennett added a third period power play goal to cement a 6-1 win.</p>
