Good news, everyone! As expected, the National Hockey League’s salary cap will be nudging up slightly for the 2022-23 season. Per multiple media reports, the NHL’s cap will be going up by $1 million to a new cap ceiling of $82.5 million per team for next season.

Per PuckPedia, here are the Flames’ one-way contracts and cap commitments for the 2022-23 season:

Sean Monahan – $6.375 million
Jacob Markstrom – $6 million
Mikael Backlund – $5.35 million
Milan Lucic – $5.25 million
Noah Hanifin – $4.95 million
Blake Coleman – $4.9 million
Elias Lindholm – $4.85 million
Rasmus Andersson – $4.55 million
Chris Tanev – $4.5 million
Tyler Toffoli – $4.25 million
Dillon Dube – $2.3 million
Juuso Valimaki – $1.55 million
Connor Mackey – $912,500
Daniel Vladar – $750,000

Coming off the books following this season is Troy Brouwer’s $1.5 million buyout penalty.

In addition to these 14 players under contract, the Flames have a bevy of pending restricted and unrestricted free agents – most notably Johnny Gaudreau (UFA), Matthew Tkachuk (RFA), Andrew Mangiapane (RFA) and Oliver Kylington (RFA). Needless to say, Flames general manager Brad Treliving will have some work to do whenever the current season ends.
